Gemelli — meaning twins in Italian — was started by brother and sister Jason and Liana to bring a piece of Italian culture to Melbourne.
The recipes, passed down through three generations, are now served in the neighbourhood where the twins grew up.
It began at Ivanhoe Station.
A chance meeting between the twins' parents at Ivanhoe Station began the family's story in this suburb. Born nearby and schooled just down the road, Jason and Liana have always considered these streets home.
Ivanhoe has a strong sense of community, and Gemelli was made in that spirit: a cosy neighbourhood spot where locals cross paths every day.

From the family table.
The recipes have been in the family for three generations, and they began around a table where food was never just about the plate. It was the conversation, the shared laughter, and enjoying the moment together.
